The purpose of this site is to enhance communication between students, faculty, staff, and the public.
 

Program Mission and Goals

Mission:
  • Mission of the Medical Assisting Program is to educate and prepare students to be successful as Medical Assistants in a dynamic health care environment.

Goals:

  • Educate and train highly skilled, competent, professional entry-level Medical Assistants to serve patients in the ambulatory care setting consistent with standards of current professional practice.
  • To prepare competent entry level Medical Assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavioral) learning domains
  • Prepare students to practice Medical Assisting within the boundaries of professional training and ethical principles.
  • Provide competency based knowledge and skills as a basis for clinical and administrative decision making in the practice of safe, accurate and appropriate care.
